RECIPE TIPS

  • Once the eggs have boiled, allow them to sit for 15 minutes before adding them to a bowl of ice cold water. This will make peeling the eggs that much easier.
  • Using a piping bag, a cookie scoop, or even a Ziploc bag that’s been cut in the corner, is a great way to produce clean-looking football deviled eggs. You can also spoon the egg yolk filling directly into the boiled egg whites if you don’t mind a more rustic look.
  • Easily double the ingredients for a larger serving if you are hosting a lot of people.

How to Make Football Deviled Eggs

  1. Cut the hard boiled eggs in half.
  2. Remove the yellow yolks and place them into a mixing bowl. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, salt & paprika to the mixing bowl with the egg yolks and combine.Ingredients for deviled egg filling in bowl

HOW SHOULD I STORE FOOTBALL DEVILED EGGS?

  • These assembled deviled eggs should be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Never leave them out at room temperature for extended periods of time.

CAN I MAKE THESE FOOTBALL DEVILED EGGS IN ADVANCE?

  • Once fully assembled, these football deviled eggs are best enjoyed as soon after made as possible. The condensation from storage in the fridge can make the paprika bleed and the decorative green onions wilt.
  • To reduce the overall time of this recipe, consider boiling the eggs up to 7 days in advance to be stored in Ziploc bags in the refrigerator. You could even go a step further and have mixed the egg yolk filling ingredients, stored separately from the egg white halves in the refrigerator. Then you only need to assemble the main components of these football deviled eggs on the day or night of your function. Football Deviled Eggs on a plate
