These Zesty Ritz Crackers are what I consider to be plain Ritz crackers on steroids! It’s such a simple yet delicious adaption to these store-bought crackers – you’ll wonder why you never tried it before!zesty ritz crackers in a white bowl

They are tasty little appetizers that are perfect to enjoy during the holidays and celebrations or for adding to your snacks table during game day. Serve them alongside some dips and cheeses and you’re good to go.

While being “zesty” in flavor, they are in no way too hot for kids to enjoy, making them ideal for all ages. If you do prefer more heat, simply add some additional cayenne pepper or other spices – they really are so ridiculously easy to change up depending on your preferences!

TIPS FOR MAKING ZESTY RITZ CRACKERS

  • Enjoy these Zesty Ritz Crackers with guacamole, cream cheese, dip, cheese balls, and slices of your favorite deli meats.
  • You can store these Zesty Ritz Crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
  • Easily double the recipe if you are serving a larger crowd!
  • You can flip the crackers half way through the baking process but it’s not absolutely necessary. Some say that it provides an added crispy factor to the crackers.
  • Add additional salt to the recipe if you like although I don’t find it’s needed.

CAN I FREEZE THESE ZESTY RITZ CRACKERS?

  • Absolutely! Simply allow your crackers to cool completely and then store them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 4 months.

CAN I REVIVE MY RITZ CRACKERS IF THEY BECOME STALE?

  • Although these adapted Ritz crackers won’t last as long as those in store-bought sealed packaging, if you find your crackers have become stale, don’t just throw them out.
  • You can try to revive your crackers by placing them back into the oven for about 3-5 minutes at 350 degrees. And if that doesn’t work then use your stale crackers as a delicious breadcrumb coating in chicken or fish dishes!

ARE THESE ZESTY RITZ CRACKERS QUITE SPICY?

  • While the cayenne pepper does add a bit of heat, it’s more a slight touch of heat than an overly spicy recipe. It’s definitely something that most will enjoy even if they can’t handle much heat in food. For this reason, it’s a great snack that both adults and kids can enjoy!
