Ritz Turtle Bites

If you thought Ritz crackers were only enjoyed as savory snacks, think again! These Ritz Turtle Bites combine the savory and slightly salty flavor of buttery crackers with rich and decadent sweet Rolo candies, melted chocolate chips, and halved pecans.

These bite-sized treats are quick and easy to make with just four ingredients! Add them to a snacks platter at parties, include them in lunchboxes, or nibble through a fresh batch of these Ritz Turtle bites at home with a cup of hot coffee!

Recipe Notes:

  • These Ritz Turtle Bites are easy to adapt. Check out my suggestions for variations in the post. 
  • Allow the Ritz Turtle bites to cool before adding the melted chocolate drizzle. 
  • Keep an eye on the Ritz Turtle Bites while they heat in the oven, as it’s easy for the Rolo candies to melt instead of soften.

Ritz Turtle Bites

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.crackers, rolos, pecans and chocolate chips
  2. Arrange the Ritz crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet, with half the crackers facing up and half the crackers facing down.crackers on a baking sheet
  3. Place a Rolo on top of each cracker.rolo candies put on top of crackers
  4. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for around 5 minutes, until the candy has softened.
  5. Lightly press one pecan piece into the top of each cracker that is facing up.pecan pushed on top of rolos
  6. Then, lightly place the cracker with the pecan on top of the remaining crackers to make a sandwich. Carefully press down to smash the Rolo, making sure not to break the cracker.cracker placed on top of another cracker with chocolate
  7. Allow the cracker sandwiches to rest at room temperature until cooled, then transfer the melted chocolate to a piping bag.chocolate being drizzled over crackers

Ritz Turtle Bites

Ingredients
 

  • 32 Ritz crackers
  • 32 Rolo candies
  • 16 pecan halves
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the Ritz crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet, with half the crackers facing up and half the crackers facing down.
  • Place a Rolo on top of each cracker.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for around 5 minutes, until the candy has softened.
  • Lightly press one pecan piece into the top of each cracker that is facing up.
