Oreo Dirt Cake

While this Oreo Dirt Cake may not sound that delicious, it’s actually one of my favorite no-bake summer desserts and here’s why:

2 pieces of oreo dirt cake
  • It just takes 15 minutes to assemble the dessert before popping into the fridge for chilling;
  • It doesn’t require any baking and is ideal as a cool dessert during the warmer months of the year;
  • Kids LOVE it because it resembles soil, especially if you get creative by topping it with gummy worms; while adults appreciate the delicious contrast of buttery oreo cookie crust against that smooth and rich cream cheese and white chocolate pudding mix!
  • It can be made ahead of time and stores well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

While I have no problem eating oreo cookies by themselves, they are definitely one of the best types of sandwich cookies to add in recipes, transforming a somewhat plain dessert into something truly mouth watering, just like this Oreo Dirt Cake!

RECIPE TIPS

  • If you want different sized crushed oreo pieces for the topping of your dirt cake, then I suggest that you reserve a few oreo cookies to crush by placing them in a Ziploc bag. That way, you’ll get chunky pieces of oreo in addition to smaller pieces.
  • You can easily use a different pudding mix for this dirt cake recipe. Chocolate pudding mix will provide a rich chocolate dirt cake or you could also make use of vanilla pudding mix in place of the white chocolate pudding.
  • Have some extra fun with this dirt cake by adding some gummy worms on top – it’s a cute idea for Halloween or kids’ birthday parties!
