Recipe Notes:

  • If you’ve decided to make your own mini pancakes for this recipe, use a good quality pancake mix or make your own from scratch to ensure the buns are fluffy and have a good maple flavor.
  • Be sure to cook the sausage patties thoroughly but not too long to keep them juicy.
  • Use a non-stick pan or griddle to prevent the patties and buns from sticking.
  • Try adding some toppings, such as bacon or avocado to give it some extra flavor and texture.
Can I make these Copycat Mini McGriddles the day before?

I don’t recommend making and assembling these homemade McGriddles a day before serving, as they are best tasting when freshly made and warm. You could prepare some of the elements of this recipe the day before and reheat them when assembling the McGriddles serve.

How should I store my leftover McGriddles?

If you have leftover Mini McGriddles Breakfast, it’s best to store them in an airtight container or wrapped tightly in plastic to keep them fresh.

To reheat them, you can use a microwave or toaster oven:
When reheating in the microwave, wrap the sandwich in a damp paper towel or place it on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for 15-20 seconds or until heated through.

If you’re using a toaster oven, wrap the sandwich in foil and heat for about 5-7 minutes or until warm.

Reheating the breakfast sandwich can cause the pancake buns to lose their texture.
