Bang Bang Cauliflower Bites
If you’ve never heard of Bang Bang Cauliflower Bites then you’re in for a crunchy and tasty surprise! I’ll be honest, of all the veggies out there, cauliflower can be a little boring at times. The taste of the vegetable itself is quite bland which is why it’s mostly used as a filler rather than a standout side dish or snack.
But not today, my friends! These Bang Bang Cauliflower Bites are going to change the way you view this
simple vegetable! In this recipe, the cauliflower florets are dipped into an egg mixture, breaded,
and then baked to crispy perfection – ready to be enjoyed as a scrumptious low-carb snack
alongside your favorite dipping sauce or added to your plate as a bang’N side dish!
Recipe Notes:
How to Ensure Crispy Cauliflower Bites:
- Single Layer on Baking Sheet: To achieve the perfect golden brown crispiness, spread the breaded cauliflower in a single layer on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet. This ensures even cooking and crispiness.
- Panko Breadcrumbs: For the crispiest texture, use panko breadcrumbs. Their larger flakes create a crunchier coating than traditional breadcrumbs.
- Rotating Mid-Cooking: Halfway through cooking, rotate the cauliflower pieces to ensure even browning and crispiness on all sides.
– Airtight Container: Store leftover bang bang cauliflower in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
– Reheat for Best Texture: For the best texture, reheat leftovers on a baking sheet in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until warm and crispy. You can also use an air fryer basket to reheat for a quick and crispy result.-
Substitute panko breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs and use gluten-free flour if needed. For a vegan version, opt for vegan mayo and replace eggs with a suitable vegan binding agent, like a flaxseed or chia egg.
Yes! To make in an air fryer, place the breaded cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12-18 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Absolutely! Adjust the hot sauce to taste. If you like it milder, reduce the hot sauce or add more honey. For a spicier sauce, increase the hot sauce or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR FULL RECIPE.
- Cauliflower: A versatile vegetable that’s excellent for creating crispy bites. When cut into pieces and baked, cauliflower florets become tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, making them a perfect base for the bang bang sauce.
- Panko Breadcrumbs: These Japanese breadcrumbs are lighter and airier than traditional breadcrumbs, providing a crunchier texture to the breaded cauliflower.
- Eggs: Act as a binding agent, helping the panko breadcrumbs adhere to the cauliflower pieces, ensuring a crispy coating.
- Sweet Chili Sauce: Adds a sweet and mildly spicy flavor to the creamy sauce, balancing the heat from the hot sauce.
- Hot Sauce (like Sriracha): Brings heat to the bang bang sauce, offering a spicy kick that complements the sweet chili sauce.
- Mayo: Creates the creamy base for the bang bang sauce. You can use traditional, light, or vegan mayo depending on your dietary preferences.
- Honey: Adds a touch of sweetness to the sauce, balancing the spicy flavors.
- Parsley: Fresh parsley adds a burst of color and a fresh, herby flavor that brightens the dish, making it a perfect garnish.
