Deviled Ham Salad Spread

Deviled Ham Salad Spread is a delicious combination of deviled eggs and ham salad spread. Since both recipes call for similar ingredients, it was a no-brainer to marry the two in the hopes of making a truly irresistible spread for crackers, sandwiches, baguettes, or biscuits.

Recipe Notes:

  • This ham spread is a perfect recipe for using up any leftover holiday ham. You could also easily use ham steaks for this spread too.
  • Since the ham is already naturally salty, it’s best to hold off on including additional salt before taste testing prior to serving. Adjust as needed.
  • You don’t have to chill this deviled ham spread although it’s a great idea to do so for several hours since it seems to intensify the flavors.

How should I store my Deviled Ham Salad Spread?

Deviled Ham Spread is very similar to ham salad spread, consisting of cooked ham mixed with mayonnaise, chopped vegetables, relish, and boiled eggs.

This spread can be enjoyed as a filling on bread rolls/slices or used as an appetizer on your favorite crackers.

Can I freeze this Deviled Ham Salad Spread?

There is some debate as to whether ham spread should be frozen or not. Technically, you can freeze this ham spread but I recommend that you eat it freshly made since the mayonnaise in the mix doesn’t always hold up well during freezing and defrosting.

If you do decide to freeze this ham spread, be sure to leave an inch of space in the sealed container for expansion during freezing. To defrost, simply leave it overnight in the refrigerator and serve chilled.

What can I serve this Ham Spread with?

Ham spread is delicious on crusty long rolls, as a sandwich spread, spread over freshly baked biscuits or with an assortment of crackers for a light lunch, snack or party appetizer!
