These air fryer donut bites are best enjoyed as soon as they’re made although you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or for up to a week if refrigerated.
Absolutely! Instead of cutting the biscuit dough into donut bite sizes, simply cut out a whole in the center of each biscuit with a 1-inch pastry cutter or a knife and then fry your donuts in the air fryer, having brushed them with oil.
Make sure to flip your donuts half way through the cooking time and remove once golden brown. The smaller cut-out centers can then be fried afterwards – that way you’ll get a combination of regular sized donuts and donut bites without wasting any dough!
RECIPE TIPS
- If you don’t like using vegetable oil then feel free to use coconut oil when lightly brushing the biscuit dough for placing in the air fryer basket.
- Don’t overcrowd your air fryer basket with the biscuit dough pieces otherwise your donut bites won’t fry evenly. Rather fry them in batches if necessary.
- The quantity of donut bites can easily be increased by doubling the quantity of ingredients. This will obviously mean additional batch cooking but it’s so worth it, especially if catering for a party.
- Although I haven’t specified what brand of biscuit dough to use, Pillsbury Flaky Layers Original is always the best bet!
- Feel free to decorate your donut bites with a glaze and sprinkles or dip them into melted chocolate for a more decadent treat!

no air fryer – can these be baked?
Yes, I am sure these would work out great in the oven. I haven’t testing that yet, so I can’t say for sure what times and temps to use.
