This sweet dip is a fantastic alternative to traditional caramel apples and is ready to be served to hungry guests in less than 30 minutes.  An addictive dip for any occasion!

  • Cream Cheese – Allow the cream cheese to sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes before preparing the dip to ensure it’s soft enough to blend seamlessly with the other ingredients.
  • Lemon Juice – Whether you prefer fresh or bottled lemon juice, either will work perfectly in this recipe.
  • Apples – You can use any variety of apples for dipping in this recipe. Personally, I enjoy offering a mix of sweet and tart apples, with granny smith apples being a great choice for their delightful tartness and resistance to browning.
  • Toffee Bits – You can either go with the chopped up Heath Bars, or if your local store have toffee bits, those work out great too!
  • Caramel Sauce – You have the flexibility to use either caramel ice cream topping or the recipe I have provided in the post

Recipe Notes:

  • There is a difference between the plain, chopped toffee bits you are likely to find in the baking aisle of your grocery store and the chocolate toffee bits that come from the Heath bar. If you find it hard to source packages of pre-chopped Heath bars, just use some Heath candy bars and chop away which you’ll be likely to find in the candy section.
  • If you want to skip the step of making your own dip (even though it’s super easy and quick) then an alternative is to buy a caramel dip from the store such as Marzetti Old Fashioned Caramel Dip.
  • An additional topping could include white chocolate chips – yummy!
  • Looking for alternate items to serve with your dip? Try strawberries, or even pretzels.
