Crack Chicken Tater Tot Casserole is totally addictive! Tater tots and tender ranch seasoned chicken are combined in a mix of cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise, then topped off with shredded cheese and chopped bacon – ready to bake to a gooey perfection!
Enjoy a serving of this crack casserole as is or with a side of roasted veggies, green salad, or homemade dinner rolls.
Recipe Notes:
- If you bake the Tater Tots for 10-15 minutes before preparing this recipe it will add a delectable crispiness to the dish. However, it’s unnecessary to even thaw them if you don’t have the extra time.
- Feel like experimenting? Try Swiss, Monterey Jack, or Colby instead of, or in addition to, the Cheddar.
- It’s best to use real bacon crumbled if you can, as bacon bits can sometimes taste a little artificial.
- To reheat leftovers, cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and place it in the oven for 40 mins at 350°F.
– Make this dish lactose-free by using lactose-free cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, and mayonnaise.
– Use whatever cut of chicken you prefer for this dish. You could use boneless thighs or breasts…and if you are low on time, or just enjoy the flavor, store-bought rotisserie chicken works beautifully too.
– If you enjoy a little more of a ‘kick’ you can use Sriracha or Zesty Ranch, add one diced Jalapeno, or add some smoked Paprika.
– You can use turkey bacon, or even ground beef.
– Add some veggies to this casserole. Corn, carrots, and broccoli go extremely well in this dish! –

Can you use a different seasoning to replace the Ranch? I have family members who don’t like Ranch seasoning.
I’ve only tested the recipe as written, so I can’t say for sure.
