Grilled Potato Wedges
Grilled Potato Wedges don’t need to be tricky to make at all! In fact, in just 15 minutes and with minimal ingredients, you can make crispy grilled potato wedges in your grill that will be the perfect addition to almost any main meal!
Apart from enjoying your Grilled Potato Wedges as a lunch or dinner side, you can also store leftover wedges in the refrigerator for 3-5 days, adding them to breakfast or to be enjoyed as a hearty and comforting snack alongside some dip or sauce.
RECIPE TIPS
- If your potatoes aren’t getting crisp enough towards the end of cooking, place them in a pan with a little cooking spray, over a high heat on top of the stove, and then simply toss and turn the potatoes until they crisp up to your desire, being careful not to burn them!
- My recipe uses standard size potatoes which is why I have quartered them so that they cook through. I don’t recommend using smaller potatoes as they may fall through the oven grates but if you do use smaller potatoes then make sure to cut them in half, not quarter them.
- When selecting a potato, make sure it’s firm and free of blemishes and sprouts. If, subsequent to purchasing, your potatoes develop green areas and begin to sprout, trim these off before cooking.
How to Make Grilled Potato Wedges
- Wash potatoes and cut into wedges.
- Place in baking dish or large bowl.
- Drizzle with oil. Combine spices and sprinkle about half over potatoes.
- Toss to coat and add more oil and spices.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat or 350 degrees F
- Coat grates with canola or vegetable oil. Place potato wedges directly on grates.
- Cook 12-15 minutes, turning every 4-5 minutes and cook until fork tender. Cooking time will vary depend on thickness and size of potatoes.
- Serve immediately with parsley, salt and dipping sauce, if desired. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
HOW DO YOU MAKE THESE POTATOES CRISPY?
- To ensure that your potato wedges come out of the grill with crispy outer edges while soft and fluffy on the inside, make sure to spread the potato quarters apart with enough space. This will allow each potato the chance of getting equal cooking exposure in the oven.
- Turning your potato wedges over every 4-5 minutes is also key to allowing each side to crisp up beautifully.
WHAT TYPES OF POTATOES ARE BEST FOR GRILLED WEDGES?
