Air Fryer Ham and Cheese Pockets
Air Fryer Crescent Ham and Cheese Pockets are super quick and easy to make with basic ingredients that you’re likely to already have on hand.
These pockets are perfect as a stand-alone breakfast bite, snack, or party appetizer, but can just as easily be turned into a satisfying meal when combined with a serving of potato wedges, pasta salad, or vegetables.
RECIPE TIPS
- If you’re looking for a dip, Honey and Mustard dressing goes really well with these air fryer ham and cheese pockets.
- Keeping your dough cold will help the seams of the crescent dough stay pinched together.
- You can make homemade dough instead of using store-bought crescent canned dough.
- If you don’t have butter, you can also use egg, or olive oil to brush the pockets before air frying.
- It’s important to leave space between the pockets for the pastry to expand and crisp evenly on all sides. Rather cook these pockets in batches if needed.
How to Make Air Fryer Crescent Ham and Cheese Pockets
- Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F. Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit the air fryer basket.
- On a lightly floured surface, unroll the crescent dough and press into an even rectangle. Cut each sheet of crescent dough into 4 equal rectangles.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the ham and cheese. Place about ¼ cup of the mixture on each piece of crescent dough towards one end.
- Fold the crescent dough over the mixture and press to seal the edges.
- Crimp with a fork.
- Place the pockets into the air fryer basket, leaving space between for the crescent dough to puff. Brush with melted butter.
- Cook in the air fryer for 7 to 9 minutes, flipping halfway or until golden.
WHAT OTHER FILLING OPTIONS CAN I TRY?
- Different Meats: Use different meat but make sure to use cooked meat. Shredded chicken, pulled pork, bacon pieces, pepperoni, sausage, or turkey are all great options.
- Use other types of cheese or cheese blends: Pepper Jack, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Gorgonzola, Monterey Jack, or Gruyere cheese.
- Include veggies or make your pockets completely vegetarian: Consider a combination of Shiitake mushrooms, peppers, olives, basil, spinach, red onion, and zucchini.
- Add Sauce: Give your air fryer pockets a touch of sauce (not too much though that it leaks out). Try Sriracha or Jalapeno for a kick, Alfredo, mushroom…or even a pesto-based sauce
CAN I USE THE OVEN INSTEAD OF THE AIR FRYER?
Yes, you sure can! They may not get as crispy, so for this reason an air fryer is preferable…but they will still taste delicious.

To bake these pockets, heat the oven to 375°F and bake for 20 – 25 mins, or until the pockets are golden brown. If you have a small air fryer and a short time to prepare, then the oven would be a good option.
HOW SHOULD I STORE AIR FRYER CRESCENT HAM AND CHEESE POCKETS?
- If you’d like to refrigerate leftovers you can place them in an airtight container, and they will last for up to 4 days.
- If you’d like to store them longer, they can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven, air fryer or microwave.
