Tomato Soup Hamburger Casserole
Tomato Soup Hamburger Casserole takes regular hamburger casserole and creates a delicious twist with the addition of rich tomato soup!
This comforting hamburger casserole is loaded with al dente pasta, browned ground beef, canned tomato soup, and topped with cheese. Once assembled, this casserole is topped with extra cheese and baked until bubbling!
- Only cook the pasta until al dente. The pasta will continue to cook while baking in the oven.
- Browning the ground chuck before adding to the casserole helps to render any excess fat in the meat and also helps to cook the meat evenly. It’s great for adding overall flavor to the casserole as well.
- Once you’ve browned the ground beef, drain any excess fat. This will prevent the assembled hamburger casserole from being too greasy.
Recipe Variations
- Add vegetables, such as bell peppers, mushrooms, and onion.
- Instead of tomato soup as the base, consider using cream of mushroom, or even a tomato-based pasta sauce.
- Sprinkle some panko breadcrumbs on the top of the casserole with the grated cheese for a little crunch.
- Add some fresh herbs and spices to this casserole, such as oregano, basil, thyme, paprika, or cumin. You could also add cayenne pepper and red chili flakes for a kick of heat.
