Chicken and Noodles

  • 1 whole 4 pound chicken
  • 1 medium onion chopped roughly
  • 3-4 stalks celery chopped roughly
  • 3-4 carrots chopped roughly
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 16 oz bag egg noodles
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups chicken stock


  1. Clean and wash chicken and place in a very large pot with vegetables and seasonings. Cover with water and place lid on top
  2. Bring to a boil, and allow to boil for about 30 minutes, then turn to low and cook for 2-3 more hours. This will make a really great stock, that you will use to cook the noodles.
  3. Drain chicken, saving stock. While the noodles are cooking you can debone the chicken and cut into small pieces. Add stock and also store bought chicken stock to large pot and bring to boil.
  4. Cook noodles according to directions on bag, drain, save stock.
  5. Add noodles to large bowl or back into pot. Next add soup and milk to the noodles. Stir in chicken pieces. Add more reserved stock if the mixture is too dry
